Faiths, Ecological Justice, and the Tropical Rainforests create learners’ knowledge, awareness and understanding of the threats to and impacts on the global tropical rainforests, and the biological diversity and indigenous peoples therein. The course develops the learners’ comprehension of ecological justice, comprising both social and environmental justice, based on the principle of interconnection and interdependence of all beings, and that environmentally ethical actions are central to social equity. The course further allows learners to explore how mainstream religious faiths advocate for ecological justice of the tropical rainforests.
